Currently, the US government is in debate over a proposed $1.9 trillion Pandemic Relief Bill, which includes relief for American citizens, often referred to as stimulus checks. The proposed relief payments at this time would be $1400 per adult and dependent. But, how do you know if you’ll receive the $1400?

will I get a stimulus checkFirst, let’s look at those filing as individuals. If your adjusted gross income (taxable income before deductions) is less than $75,000, you’ll receive the full $1400. If your adjusted gross income (AGI) is $75,000 to less than $100,000, you will receive an amount less than $1400. If your AGI is more than $100,000, you will not receive a stimulus payment.

Next, let’s look at those filing jointly. If your AGI together is less than $150,000, you’ll receive the full $1400. If your combined AGI is $150,000 to less than $200,000, you will receive an amount less than $1400. If your combined AGI is more than $200,000, you will not receive a stimulus payment.

Lastly, let’s look at those filing as head-of-household. If your AGI is less than $112,500, you’ll receive the full $1400. If your AGI is $112,500 to less than $150,000, you will receive an amount less than $1400. If your AGI is more than $150,000, you will not receive a stimulus payment.

Again, these brackets are part of the Pandemic Relief Bill that is still being debated, so they may change. However, at this time (2/23/021), these figures will help you answer, “Will I get a stimulus check?”
